I know it sounds cray but listen to this study.  One group of pigs were given a diet that consisted of fruits, vegetables, beef, fish, and potatoes.  When I say diet, they were allowed to gorge themselves.  Another group of pigs were given only grains.  Guess what.  The pigs that ate the grain free diet not only weighed less but were healthier!  They had lower blood pressure, less body fat, and lower levels of body inflammation.  The pigs on the grain free diet ate a whopping 14.5 pounds of food a day for a total of 4,000 calories.  The pigs on the grain  only diet ate 3.4 pounds a day for a total of 5,000 calories!  We can learn a lot from this study.  In the book, The DeFlame Diet, Dr. David Seaman quotes this study and recommends it for not only loosing weight but for getting rid of inflammation and disease.  Here is his recommended diet below.

Foods that lead to an inflammatory state and will cause weight gain - stay away

  • refined sugar
  • refined grains
  • flour products
  • trans fats
  • refined omega 6 seed oils ( corn, safflower, sunflower, peanut, ect.)

Foods that lead to a deflamed state and will help you to loose weight - eat these

  • Meats ( grass fed is the best )
  • wild caught fish
  • shellfish
  • chicken
  • eggs
  • cheese
  • vegetables
  • salads (leafy greens)
  • fruit
  • potato
  • sweet potato
  • Nuts
  • omega 3 seeds
  • spices
  • olive oil, coconut oil, butter, cream
  • avacodo
  • bacon
  • red wine, stout beer
  • coffee, tea

Try this and tell me how it works for you!  Of course remember when trying to loose weight everyone responds a little different and its harder for girls to loose weight than guys ( sorry girls, your body functions differently than ours). Also remember you must drink water to loose weight.  The general accepted formula is take half your body weight and put ounces after it instead of pounds.  For example a 200 pound person would want to drink 100 ounces a day.
